[attr="class","evannah"] [attr="class","evanleft"] [attr="class","evanleft2"] | [attr="class","evanright"] Evan was in bad shape. There was the bullet wound to his shoulder—the same place his kidnapper had dug into him with the sharp end of a knife. The man hadn't stopped there: he had continued to cut into his back with that same blade. The large collection of lacerations and bruises he had accumulated over the past three days told the story of his ordeal, but it was the electricity that had run through his body courtesy of the picana electrica that had caused the most pain. Floating in and out of consciousness, a small part of him had been vaguely aware of lying on his back… and being lifted? He had no idea he had been helped onto a gurney, wheeled towards the emergency vehicles outside of the warehouse where he had been tortured. It was too hard to put the pieces together. Everything was too confusing… and his eyes were getting so very heavy. He blacked out again—he didn't know for how long, or where he woke up. That somewhere being the back of an ambulance, as he was tended to by a paramedic. Evan feebly swatted at the unfamiliar man lording over him—undoubtedly another one of his captors—or so he reasoned in his current state. Even that small act of resistance took more effort than he had. All he really wanted was for the pain to end… finally… mercifully. His eyes started to close again. He didn't want to regain consciousness—not again. Maybe this time, when the darkness claimed him, it would be the last time. Vanessa Whitmore-Cross, Mark Wilson[attr="class","evanright2"] |

Mark was used to seeing some pretty awful things but this had to take it into the top ten of those. Bad shape was a polite way to put it, a bullet to the shoulder, knife wounds, bruises, electrical issues and that was only the things he could see and know about as a medic. There were days when he just wanted to go home and listen to his nice talk about school or Disney or anything other than think about what had happened to the guy he was trying to treat. This wasn’t an accident or an unfortunate turn of events no this was entirely deliberate.
Once Evan was in the relative safety of the ambulance Mark set about trying to treat the guy, he was in and out which was a good thing considering what had happened. His usual ‘you’ve been in an accident, you’ll be okay’ wasn’t exactly going to work on a man who had been tortured for who knew how long. How to get that across to a patient because nothing was okay or alright about the situation at all as he tried to press clean gauze onto the knife wounds and Evan’s shoulder.
When Evan feebly swatted him away Mark shook his head, “I’m here to help you, I know it will hurt but you’re safe now. I’m the paramedic here to help you.” He tried to explain though Mark wasn’t too sure if the man understood as he watched him start to close his eyes again. Deciding that it was the perfect time to get an IV started Mark did just that, at least if the guy couldnt feel it then it saved him being swatted away again. It was slow going trying to take care of wounds and a gunshot though it looked worse than that as if someone had gone in after the bullet.

[attr="class","de1"] Vanessa was frantic she'd managed to slip out on the security detail. Well she wasn't TRYING to lose them, just she'd just left without informing them and took off. One of her hooks in the department had started talking. "EVAN!" she was screaming at the top of her lungs. "EVAN!" she was kept out of the scene by officers. Frantically pacing and trying to do anything but think about what was going on. She was feeling sick to her stomach. Vanessa frantically hit the side of ambulance 74 and was in a real work up. The paramedics were already inside and it wasn't helping. Not at all for her state of mind anyway. There was a mix of fear and tears pulsing through her body. Someone had apparently sweet talked the paramedics while Vanessa was pitching her fit. Spoiled rich girl making a scene out by the ambulance. "Ms. Whitmore" she heard her name being spoken from behind her. Though she wheeled around to cold c.ock whoever had just touched her. Vanessa was on edge, well that was an understatement as she felt like hurling. Before she realized what was happening she was up in the ambulance too not even sure what to make of what's going on. "Evan" she called his name but moved out of the medics way. That's when she recognized Mark but it wasn't like she could just say anything. He had Evan to look after and right now that's all she was focused on. All she could do was call his name. Vanessa was trying so hard to pull herself together on the outside but her head was screaming. Vanessa reached for Evan's hand. Her voice was soft but sounded so broken. "Don't you die on me Evan Cross. No way in hell am I raising our kid alone." She hadn't wanted to tell him this way, she'd wanted to be like every other couple and get to celebrate it; but she was scared and Evan... she couldn't even bring herself to look up much. It hurt to see his face. Vanessa did everything she could to stay out of the way when in reality she wanted to glue to his side; but she had no medical training. Nothing that she could do to help right now and Vanessa felt powerless. ⚓ Evan Cross Mark Wilson ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]

[attr="class","evannah"] [attr="class","evanleft"] [attr="class","evanleft2"] | [attr="class","evanright"] The darkness called to him, inviting him, welcoming him. Saying yes would be easy—and he wanted so much to slip away. To give up. To surrender. Evan couldn't keep his eyes open if he tried, but past the comfort of nothing, a voice insisted he wasn't the enemy. Another voice with a familiar, but strong Midwestern twang pleaded with him… begged him not to die. Because she didn't want to raise a child— their child—alone? No, his girlfriend hadn't been pregnant before he'd gotten taken. His mind was creating a hallucination. Something for him to hold on to until help arrived, but he'd been waiting for... he didn't know how long. Maybe he could wait just a little bit longer. Evan nodded off again after that. He couldn't say what happened to him until his eyes fluttered back open and he started taking in his surroundings as best he could. Unconsciousness would inevitably come to claim him once more, but he probably had at least a few minutes. There was that same man—not the one that had shot him and tortured him—doing something to him. Nothing the man had said before made any sense. "You… doing… hurts." Everything was coming out as a confusing jumble of words. "I thought… Nessie… cold?" Vanessa Whitmore-Cross , Mark Wilson [attr="class","evanright2"] |

Mark winced hearing someone screaming the man’s name, well this wasn’t going to be a good day at all he thought. There were times when he thought that family should be ten miles away from anything like that but then he had seen what the power of family could do. People hanging on or people being at peace because family was there or friends. Still when he heard something hit the side of the ambulance, yeah great taking it on out the outside was really going to help he thought trying to bite his tongue as he worked.
Trying to work was easy when the person was on the outside of his world in the back of the ambulance. He didnt even lift his head to acknowledge her at all until he had fixed the IV and was trying to stem bleeding here and there. It was the last person he thought he might see let alone for something like this as he just kept himself quiet, what did he even say to her and it wasn’t like this wasn’t all kinds of awkward. Suddenly the space in the back seemed to be getting smaller with each breath as he tried to focus on Evan.
Then she said those words as he looked up from Evan and right at Vanessa. “He’ll be okay. He’s not going anywhere on my watch.” Mark said trying to be supportive as his mind was still three weeks from the day. “Congratulations too.” He said not sure what he could honestly say about what he had heard, he knew he had understood it but then was it even his place to say that as he tried to focus on Evan before he handed a gauze packet to Vanessa. “Can you reach that side for me?” He asked deciding he would try and let her feel like she was helping. “Just apply gentle pressure.”
“It’s okay Evan, it will hurt but not for long okay. I’ll give you something for that so just relax you’re safe here.” Mark said to him as he gave him a light dose of pain medication to take the edge off what he could. “You’re in an ambulance.” Then when he heard about Nessie being cold he looked at Vanessa for a moment, Evan was making no sense though he hoped Vanessa had a better idea of what he was aiming to say other than she was cold. Mark kept trying to do what he could in stopping the bleeding and trying to make Evan more comfortable but there was a long way to go with the man.
A surgery likely and that was only the physical side, untold damage to the physiological side of things. There wasn’t much he could do for that but for the short term he knew what he could do and that was get the guy comfortable, take care of what he could and make sure he manage to get to the hospital alive which seemed to stand a good chance so far.

[attr="class","de1"] This was awkward enough without a congratulations. Was that supposed to make her feel better? Vanessa knew that Mark was only trying to help but her brain wasn't really processing being a mother as a happy thing right now. Vanessa was a right mess. One thing Vanessa didn't do well with was the sight of blood. Feeling nauseated she took the gauze from Mark and put gentle pressure like she was told. Vanessa was on autopilot. Vanessa still couldn't bring herself to words. Though the comment about cold she chuckled. Vanessa was always cold. Though that wasn't what he meant and she knew it. Vanessa didn't think it would help matters to throw a jacket over where Mark was trying to work. "I don't think my jacket fits you sweetheart." She looked to Evan before looking back to Mark. "He's cold. He needs to warm up." Vanessa had no problem telling people how to do their jobs. But she was giving Mark the information and biting her tongue when it came to snapping. What she really wanted to say wouldnt come out. She'd left messages for Evan's parents. Making a mental note to update them once she got to the hospital, even if nothing changed between point A and point B. Vanessa was doing her best to keep all of the nauseousness away. Focusing her eyes away to ease the sight of blood. It was gross, she wanted to squirm away and shivers ran up her back. Vanessa, while she dressed comfortable; she also didn't dress to be dealing with blood and dirt and ambulances or anything else. "Right here Evan. Right here" she reminded him. ⚓ Evan Cross,Mark Wilson ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]

[attr="class","evannah"] [attr="class","evanleft"] [attr="class","evanleft2"] | [attr="class","evanright"] "Ambulance…? Am-blue-ance…?" Some combination of pain and drugs had begun to make him more than a little loopy—and he could be very off-the-walls in this state. After all, he handled his medication about as well as his alcohol, as he tried to process new information being thrown at him. Tried… and failed, crashing and burning in spectacular fashion. Blue. Such a pretty color. Relaxing. Evan had to fight back a giggle. A blue ambulance? Oh… "Okay…" Realization started setting in. They were going to a hospital. That was… fun? Or this should be fun, because this was just like a game of connect the dots, only it wasn't. Shivering, not just from the cold, but from the bits and pieces of resurfacing memory, Evan groaned. The last thing he really remembered before now was his kidnapper lording over him, the barrel of a gun pressed right up against his head—and there had been unicorns and… gunfire? Maybe this was all real. "Tell me… get there."Evan sucked in a sharp breath, as a hand found its way to his side. He recognized Vanessa's touch—firmer than usual, like she was holding something down—but no less familiar. Her voice, meant to be reassuring, telling him that she was here. That she wasn't going anywhere. He tried to nod his understanding, but it took too much energy. Real or not, the idea proved an appealing one. He chose, of his own accord, to close his eyes, plopping his hand down on top of hers. He would make doubly sure Vanessa—or this hallucination of her—didn't go anywhere. "Ssh," Evan scolded the three of them—a number that included himself. It shouldn't be this loud, nor this bright. Not when he felt like resting, but he could address at least one of his concerns now. "Tired. Want sleep."Vanessa Whitmore-Cross , Mark Wilson [attr="class","evanright2"] |

Mark nodded to Evan but he knew in the man’s state it was going to be difficult to understand things and given the pain killers too. Well he knew the usual effects it had on people which could be amusing at times too. Then again this situation wasnt amusing at all, for one a guy was hurt and two that guy was attached to his ex that was now pregnant. Great he just had to get this call out in the city he thought watching as he tried to see if Vanessa was going to be okay. Blood and her, well he knew how that went which was the one handy thing of getting to know someone.
At the mention of Vanessa telling him how to do his job he simply gave her a look. Don’t say it he thought, she did that he thought but then given the relationship between the two it was a forgivable thing. “Vanessa, I have ears.” He stated firmly glancing at her. He knew his job well enough to listen to a patient. “I can put a blanket over but I still need to work.” He said trying not to snap at her as he reached into one of the cabinets in the ambulance and pulled out the pre-packed blanket. “Mind opening and putting that over him?” Mark finished setting up the IV line as he tended to the wounds on Evan trying not to hurt him any more than was absolutely necessary.
Mark sighed as he shook his head pressing down on one of his wounds firmly. “You can’t go to sleep, you need to stay awake and talk to us.” Mark said as he tried to think of something, usually he might have chatted away and made the most random conversation alive but that day he was struggling. “So question for you, what’s your favourite sports team?” He asked not sure if the guy was a sports fan or not but then it was worth a start. “Me, I love the Cubs but that’s just me.” He added as he looked toward Vanessa for a moment.
“We need to keep him awake, no sleeping okay?” He said knowing it wouldnt be easy but then when was it ever. His ex, the new guy she was with, a baby and there was no way he was going to let anything happen to Evan. Vanessa’s wrath over that, nope Evan needed to stay awake and alive all the way to the hospital.

[attr="class","de1"] Vanessa tried to pay no attention to the ambulance sirens and Mark giving her something to do. She felt sick, she was holding back the emotional tornado. Of all people who had to get this call… Though she trusted Mark. But it didn’t mean her emotions weren’t taking over the situation as she kept mindlessly doing what she was told to do. She rubbed her thumb across Evan’s hand. She still had to call his parents… no she didn’t even want to think of that. If David didn’t kill her she was certain the waiting room at the hospital would. Even Vanessa couldn’t make heads or tails of what her boyfriend was trying to say. Oh Mark did not just go there. First he asked her to try to relay information and now practically telling her off? Bold move Mark, bold move. There was a hissing sound coming from her tones, a seething tone as she didn’t use words but showed her displeasure at Mark trying to tell her anything. Vanessa was being protective of Evan. She did what she could to keep him warm while staying out of Mark’s way. Vanessa with the one free hand she had managed to open the blanket up. Long fingernails were good for something. When Evan’s hand landed on hers, she could feel how cold he felt. Vanessa was the one with cold hands but he felt almost like icicles. Words would not come right now. She was angry and bitter and so help anyone who so much as tried to tell her how to act right now. They were going to be hurting. Mark had already written himself into a hole. When the conversation about the sleeping started Vanessa did her best to just avoid using the word sleep. Mostly because she wasn’t going to mimick or acknowledge Mark right now. He was mostly being ignored, that’s how far he’d already pushed things. “Evan tell me a story.” she whispered keeping her voice down. Clearly the noise was too much for him. “Tell me about Stanford and California.” She’d probably heard the story thousands of time. The only reasons he even stuck to sports teams was if he had Mark’s line of conversation and her own coming at him, she would confuse an already confused Evan. “Open your eyes so I can see you.” She loved to stare into Evan’s eyes, maybe she could keep his attention knowing he had the same feelings. ⚓ Evan Cross,Mark Wilson ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]

[attr="class","evannah"] [attr="class","evanleft"] [attr="class","evanleft2"] | [attr="class","evanright"] The tension in the back of the ambulance was palpable—even to him. He could tell by their tones toward each other, Nessie and the nice paramedic man weren't getting along. Did they think him completely oblivious? He didn't understand. "Why can't we be friends?" Evan interjected, starting to string some complete sentences together. It sounded pitiful. Weak. Oh, sweet pain medication, this was not going to be the last thing he heard if... if... things took a turn for the worse. "Please? Thank you? Fighting. Not helping. Butterfly?"Evan groaned when the mean paramedic man said he couldn't go to sleep. No. He needed to. It would be so easy. The paramedic was talking again, asking him about his favorite sports team, while Nessie wanted a story about Stanford and California. "I like… Stanford." His alma mater, Evan had earned both his masters and doctorate from one of the most prestigious schools in the country. He'd even been to some football games while attending college—an interesting, if not loud experience. He would never claim to be a huge sports fan, but he could get behind his school. "Cardinal refers to the color—not the bird."Yawning, Evan questioned his newly discovered ability. Sure, of course, he could do that. But only sometimes? Now Nessie was just being ridiculous. The fog of confusion told him so. "I'm invisible with my eyes closed?" Evan's usually vibrant blue eyes, dulled by pain, fluttered open. He did his best to keep them that way, trying to focus on Nessie's familiar brown. Each blink threatened to drag him back under. But he had a superpower! Captain America and his enhanced strength had nothing on this. Yeah, Evan reasoned, if he was as out of it as they figured, would he have such groundbreaking, monumental ideas? Nope. He took his idea for a test drive, closing one eye and keeping the other open. "You can see me now?"Evan tried to entwine their fingers together, playing with Nessie's dominant left hand. Except something seemed off. "No ring?" Shouldn't there be a diamond engagement ring… or a wedding band… or something? Evan shook his head gently—more than that would hurt—trying to clear the cobwebs out. His wires were getting crossed again, as everything ran together. Had that just been his greatest fear? The thing he would never have, if rescue never came? Did Nessie even want that? "I mean… that's not what I meant."Vanessa Whitmore-Cross , Mark Wilson [attr="class","evanright2"] |

[attr="class","de1"] Vanessa wasn’t sure what to say about the ring comment. At least not at first. Nor was it something she wanted to discuss while Evan was in this state. If she explained to him they weren’t there yet, would he take that as she wasn’t ready for a commitment. Though she didn’t want to think he was making a proposal because she knew he would want to do things the proper way. “You will put one there when you are ready to take that step.” There wasn’t a doubt in her mind that she would make that commitment to him. Though as they arrived at the hospital her mind was lost in the blur of them rushing him in and her being pulled off into the waiting room. She wasn’t there but a few minutes before she texted his parents to tell them what happened and where they were. But all of that on top of the baby made her feel sick. Time went by and she was in and out of the restroom and pushed away a few orderlies who tried to help her. Rest, though she tried laying down in a few chairs to ease her stomach, didn’t really come. Her face was tear stained and she had hardly touched the water she’d gotten from the vending machine. She had a blanket wrapped around her and eventually got up and started pacing staring at the window. Every time a doctor came to the waiting room she expected news and yet at the same time she was afraid of what they might say. Soon she found herself in frustration running to the restroom. Martin and Sam had caught up to her at some point. Martin sent Sam to go stand outside of Evan’s room. No one was to go near him unless Sam knew them or they were medical staff. Martin tasked himself with dealing with the hormonal Vanessa. Martin at one point had to chase Vanessa into the restroom. It was going to be a long night. He kept her from punching the mirror, no shock there. “Ms. Whitmore, getting worked up like this isn’t going to help your child or you. It only solves nothing and creates more issues.” She wanted to argue with that but didn’t have the strength in her anymore. Vanessa allowed him to take her back to the waiting room. She laid back down and stared at the wall. ⚓ Evan Cross ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]

[attr="class","evannah"] [attr="class","evanleft"] [attr="class","evanleft2"] | [attr="class","evanright"] Evan didn't understand, that heady mix of drugs and pain playing tricks with his head. Was Vanessa telling him he wasn't ready for that step now? Weren't you supposed to come to profound realizations when your life passed before your eyes? How was this situation so different? His eyes started to close again and he tried to force them back open. The next thing he knew, he was being wheeled down a hallway, the lights a blur above his head. The passage of time was a tricky thing—especially in his state. --- David and Jacqueline Cross had hurried to the same hospital their son had been rushed to for treatment. The updates from Vanessa had been welcome, but when they found her in the waiting room, she was lying across uncomfortable seating, turning it into a makeshift bed. David first noticed her blood-stained clothes. His son's blood. The realization was unsettling. "Ms. Whitmore. Vanessa." David's voice softened as he did something he never thought he'd do: call one of his business rivals by her first name. Nearby, Martin kept a vigilant watch over his younger charge, but a second bodyguard was nowhere to be found. No doubt Vanessa would be planted squarely at Evan's side were she able to be there. The fact that she wasn't told him all he needed to know. "Has there been any word?"David looked to Martin. Once, he had considered the other man a friend, but time had been unkind in that regard. If Vanessa didn't feel like talking, perhaps the consummate professional could give voice to what was happening. "Anything at all?" Vanessa Whitmore-Cross [attr="class","evanright2"] |

[attr="class","de1"] Vanessa hadn’t even registered Anderson was on his way with a change of clothing for her. The first realization of someone really there was when she heard David’s voice. Wait? Since when did he call her Vanessa. She pushed herself up to where she could greet him in more caring manner. “David” Oh gawd what time is it? she realized she looked like hell the moment she looked at her watch. “I’m sorry I didn’t see you…” Her face was as pale as she felt. Anderson came by and dropped her bags off by her chair as well as a bottle from the drug store. Martin gave him instructions to go to Evan’s room as per Vanessa’s earlier instructions. “I haven’t heard anything more than what I’ve sent your way.” She had an apologetic look on her face but it was also a very distressed expression. Mixed with feeling like she was going to hurl so much that she just laid back down. She'd acknowledge him and she'd be nice but she couldn't help the feeling of her stomach turning. Martin shook his head in David’s direction. “Let me make a call.” He took his cell out to call Sam. “Miss Ryan may know more than they are telling us, she’s been outside his room for some hours.” Martin had a little more grip on what was going on. He watched Vanessa fumbling with the cap on the pre-natal vitamin bottle. He came over and took the bottle from her opening it for her handing it back as he tried to get Sam on the phone. y ⚓ Evan Cross ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]

[attr="class","samnah"] [attr="class","samleft"] [attr="class","samleft2"] | [attr="class","samright"] "You have nothing to apologize for," David assured the younger woman. From the start, he had been less than professional with her. If anyone should be apologizing, it was him. Vanessa was simply worried about Evan—like everyone else here. More than that, Vanessa had gone out of her way to accommodate both him and Jacqueline these past few days. After David had been too stubborn to accept Vanessa was not her father. Too stubborn to repair his relationship with Martin. Too stubborn to pick up the phone and call Evan following their falling out months ago—a decision that had distanced himself from his own son. Anderson's arrival didn't go ignored. Very little escaped David's notice—otherwise he wouldn't be a very successful businessman. So when the bottle of prenatal vitamins began to make the rounds from Anderson to Vanessa to Martin and back to Vanessa, David had observed the entire exchange. "Does Evan know?"Would Evan have even bothered to call him? To tell his own father that he was going to be a dad? Considering the current state of their relationship, David tried not to dwell on that thought too much, instead nodding towards his old friend. "Thank you, Martin."Meanwhile, Jacqueline sat down next to Vanessa and, without saying a word, placed a hand on the other woman's shoulder. Vanessa looked sick to her stomach, struggling to come to terms with the situation staring them in the face. The two of them could draw strength from each other. --- A lack of sleep had started to catch up to Sam, evident from how she answered the phone. It shouldn't have been a surprise. Ever since Evan had gone missing, sleep had been a commodity in short supply. For all of them. Coffee—lots and lots of coffee—had kept her going. "What's up Mr. M? I was just about to call. The doctors just wheeled Evan out of surgery. I may have exaggerated Evan's relationship with the boss just a teeny bit, but I wanted to make sure she could get in to see him. Engagement. Wedding. It's bound to happen eventually, right?"Vanessa Whitmore-Cross [attr="class","samright2"] |

[attr="class","de1"] Vanessa wanted to argue the point with David. She had everything to apologize for. Vanessa had been expecting him and Jacqueline and then not paid attention at all. She didn’t like to feel like she was being rude to anyone. Yes, she had reached out because it was the right thing to do regardless of whatever reputation there was. How did David? No wait. It took her a second. Right he was talking about the baby. Come on Vanessa get with the program here. she chastised herself. ”I um… I found out the day he went missing.”[/b] That was hard for her to admit. She’d told him but then what he comprehended at this point? Vanessa bit onto her bottom lip. Trying to clear her mind of all of this. There was too much going in all at once. Still she was frustrated at herself for not making sure that someone was watching out for him better. Vanessa overheard Martin on the phone but tried her best to keep her stomach contents from making another reappearance this evening. Vanessa wanted news as much as David and Jacqueline did. Vanessa mimicked the older woman’s sentiments as she set a hand on Jackie’s back. There weren’t words. Vanessa had a lot on her plate right now and there was no point in trying to keep up professional appearances. They were all hurting and political fronts never did any good in situations like this. Martin’s voice hardly registered. “I am calling for an update. The most up in depth one you can give me.” He wasn’t sure how much Sam knew or didn’t know. But he also knew like him, she was very sneaky in how she found out information. The woman on the other end of the line was rather resourceful. “Do not let Ms. Whitmore hear you speak of such things. She is already upset enough.” Martin was tired, grouchy, and in no mood to play around like Samantha insisted upon with her wired up caffeine. “That update you have is lacking in the details Samantha. I suggest you correct it.” He finally spelled it all out. ⚓ Evan Cross ⚓ [attr="class","de2"]VANESSA WHITMORE ♦. ♦[newclass=.de1]margin-top:25px;opacity:0;transition:0.8s;transition-delay:0.5s;transform:scale(0.75);[/newclass] [newclass=.de1:hover]opacity:0.75;transform:scale(1);[/newclass][newclass=.de2]transform:rotatez(90deg)[/newclass][googlefont=Molle:400italic]
